The Morning After – Sure To Be A Classic

Rebecca Minkoff is the Designer behind the bag many of us have heard of in the last few years, “The Morning After Bag”.  Adored by celebs, this bag put designer Minkoff on the map!..After relocating from San Diego, Ca. to New York, Minkoff started her own line consisting of 5 pieces. This line included what would be a huge hit!..an ”I Love New York” t-shirt, making it on Jay Leno, and into USWeekly.  Rebecca spent the next few years making those shirts on the floor of her NY apartment. In 2005 Rebecca decided to launch a hand bag line, to begin with The Morning After Bag. Over the years, this style has been made over in hundreds of color, fabric, trim, embellishment, and hardware options, but the shape has remained true to the original design.  Just a year after Launching her Handbag line, high-end department store Bloomingdales decided to carry her bags!..This provided Rebecca Minkoff with the national exposure she needed to expand her line. Piggybacking on the catchy pun of the Morning After Bag, Rebecca adds styles such as the Bread and Wine tote, the Paper Plastic Wallet and Cheeky Pouches with phrases such as “Benjamins” and “Trustfund” to her line.
I was inspired reading about Rebecca, because it really reminded me of The story of KAASH and me as a designer..Ms. Minkoff has achieved the success that KAASH strives for everyday. With the Launch of our Handbag line quickly approaching, its inspiring to know the stories of woman in this industry making it happen!..Look For KAASH coming soon!..And thank you Rebecca Minkoff for your tribute to FASHION!!!..

Mary N Malandrino

It’s always so inspiring to see women leaders and business women, especially when they join forces to create an even grander opportunity for other women. What is better than fashion? In my opinion nothing, until now...
Mary J. Blige unveiled a 25 piece, ready-to-wear collection with Catherine Malandrino and ELLE Magazine benefiting FFAWN, Blige's charity, at New York City's Museum Of Modern Art on June 15, 2010. The event came with a $1,000 a person ticket price, which will help cover college tuition costs for thirty graduates at the Women's Academy of Excellence in the Bronx.
“FFAWN is an acronym for The Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, Inc. and is dedicated to helping women overcome their personal difficulties to reach their full life potential. FFAWN believes that education is empowerment and through a range of programs encourages women to realize their dreams and pursue their individual goals.” Mary J. Blige has  always been a trendsetter in music and with FFAWN,  many more women in entertainment will follow her extraordinary humanitarian efforts.
"Catherine is real and she makes clothing for women of all shapes and sizes", says Mary in a statement answering why she decided to collaborate with Malandrino.
When you take fashion and give a greater cause than just #wearableart, you make it so KAASH. Be a Leader. Be inspired!
